NextWave Wireless has put it spectrum holdings in the U.S. up for sale. The company owns spectrum in the 1.7 GHz, 2.3 GHz and 2.5 GHz band. According to NextWave, the spectrum blankets 251 million U.S. residents. NextWave's CEO said the company began receiving offers for its spectrum soon after the recent FCC spectrum auction closed. The three bands NextWave holds can handle larger capacities than the 700 MHz spectrum, but don't propagate as well.
