MetroPCS announced that it is now offering its wireless services in the Las Vegas metropolitan region. The launch is made possible by the carrier's purchase of AWS spectrum covering Las Vegas in 2006. The carrier is offering three AWS-capable phones in Vegas: Samsung Spex, Samsung MyShot, and UTStarcom 7126. It will have about 60 stores opened in the coming weeks, with an additional 4 to follow by July. MetroPCS offers monthly service plans that start at $30, and does not require subscribers to sign contracts.
