Sprint to Improve WAP Web Browsing
Mar 18, 2008, 10:43 AM by Eric M. Zeman
Today Sprint announced that it will begin using the OpenWeb service from Openwave. OpenWeb will give users browsing the mobile web a more HTML-like experience even if they are using phones with WAP browsers. The technology will render pages more like they appear on the desktop, and will translate pages that are not optimized for WAP browsers to a format that will work with end users' mobile phones. The technology will go into effect in the next couple of weeks and users will not have to update their phones to take advantage of it.

This is reallllly BAD!
Sprint has imposed this on users with no opt out! There has already been reported problems at Rumkin.com and FunForMobile.com
Oh, and Helio, too - and anyone else using their network as an MVNO.
Verizons in on it too
Everyone knows everything all of a sudden
Funny...
Sprint has:
The best DATA network. EVDO areas CRUSH any other internet network provided by other carriers for your phones. Including Verizons ridiculous network.
Sprints Simply Everything plan is better than anyone elses everything plan. For many reasons... but one that stands out is.. UNLIMITED ROAMING MINUTES.
Also Sprints Text plans are nationwide & freedom throughout other networks. You can send texts to whoever you want whenever you want. Not half of the amount that you purchase per month. Send them to whatever network.
Aside from the Customer Service... Sprint is a pretty good company. Great plan rates. Nice phones.
People see something in the news & all of a sudden ...
