Today Acer announced that it has agreed to acquire E-Ten, maker of the Glofiish Windows Mobile smartphones. Acer is going to pay approximately $290 million for E-Ten. Acer has its own line of PDAs and believes that its technology combined with E-Ten's can advance the mobile computing market. The two companies expect the deal to close during the third quarter of 2008. Acer is the world's third-largest maker of PCs.
