Research In Motion has filed a lawsuit against Motorola claiming that it infringed on several RIM patents. The suit was filed Feb. 16 in U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas. It goes on to accuse Motorola of anticompetitive conduct by demanding excessive royalties for patents that RIM wanted to license from Motorola. The patents in question allow mobile telephone handset users to use Wi-Fi. Motorola is also refusing to acknowledge or pay for RIM patents it is using. Motorola sued RIM first, alleging that it willfully infringed on several Motorola patents. Niether company's claims have been substantiated in court.

After being sued by Motorola.
