Today a new version of Buddy Beacon was released that expands usability beyond Helio to four other carriers. Buddy Beacon lets you share location information with others and allows you to map and find one another. Buddy Beacon will now work on certain phones for Sprint, Boost, Alltel, Metro PCS and Helio, all of which are CDMA carriers. The service is also available for the iPhone. The new version also adds the ability to specify custom activity and location info. uLocate recently purchased Buddy Beacon and now operates the service independently.
