Samsung Bares Its Soul

Samsung announced its new flagship device for 2008, the Soul. The Soul is part of Samsung's Ultra Edition series and brings a lot to the table. It has a 2.2-inch QVGA display. Under the display is a touch capacitance navigation panel that changes and adjusts depending on user needs. The navigation icons change according the the applications being used. The Soul comes with three different user interfaces, including one that has customizable skins, which lets users change different aspects of the UI. It has a 5 Megapixel camera with autofocus, face detection and image stabilizer. The Soul carries built-in Web 2.0 tools, with Gmail, mobile blogging and an RSS reader. It has quad-band GSM/EDGE radios, as well as 7.2 Mbps HSDPA. It comes with Bluetooth 2.0 and an FM radio with RDS. Lastly, it has MP3 playback, a microSD slot for added storage, and a Bang & Olufson digital power amplifier. It goes on sale in European markets in April.
