Verizon Wireless Buys SureWest Assets
Verizon Wireless agreed to purchased wireless assets from SureWest Communications in northern California for $69 million. Verizon will acquire SureWest's network assets and spectrum licenses in Sacramento, covering about 3.8 million people. The deal is expected to be finalized during the second quarter. Once it is, Verizon will take on SureWest's 50,000 customers.

The FCC has completed its Auction 108 for 2.5 GHz radio licenses and announced the winners. As expected, T-Mobile purchased the vast majority of the over 8,000 county-based licenses on offer.
