Nokia said that it is planning to launch between six and twelve new operator-specific handsets for the North American market this year. Nokia's president of North America, Mark Louison, said that the company is working directly with U.S. network operators, including AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon Wireless, to offer phones catered to each provider. Several of the phones will be available in the first half of the year, with the bulk of them to follow during the second half of 2008. Louison said Nokia hopes to pick up momentum heading into 2009 and regain lost market share. It currently holds only 11% of the U.S. market and ranks fourth behind Motorola, Samsung, and LG.

If anyone is interested I know where the N95-3 is only $499! ! !

What an awesome, awesome deal!!! $499 for the Nokia N95-3 (U.S. Version)

It's at Tiger Direct's website, here's the link:

Better act, before the price goes up, this really is an awesome price,...I paid $572 for my N95-3 including shipping. I got mine at cellpointonline.com

So check out that link above, and get yourself a great deal!
you paid 572.00 for a phone and you're admitting it? why don't you just say "Hi, everyone I am a huge jackass moron" Even $499 is ridiculous. For thast price the phone better perform felatio on the consumer. LOL you idiot.
I don't even understand why a person like this goes to a website like PhoneScoop, he obviously doesn't appreciate advanced cell phones!!!

wow, Verizon

So Nokia is finally going to make some Verizon phones instead of rebranding some pantech crap. It will be nice to see some variety with them added to the lineup
Yeah, Verizon was mentioned, but there was no mention of Sprint? 😕 Oh well...
Sorry to say, it's still the rebranded pantech crap for VZW. Nokia has completely pulled out of developing their own CDMA phones.
i definitely hope so. true nokia phones always had great reception.
anything make for verizon its sucks!!! oh we got the best network yeah right with they ugly ui and you have to pay even if you fart the charge you for anything they crazy the people the have verizon 1- retards 2- slow people the dont know about phon...

Nokia phones are too European for the U.S.

In terms of technology, Nokia phones are as good as any. However, in terms of styling, Nokia phones are just plain UGLY in the eyes of most Americans. Just releasing a dozen more of their same-old phones is not going to make them number 1 in the U.S. Nokia needs some U.S. styling input.
I'd rather using nokia phone for business men instead of useless iPhone!
the Santa Claus country knows what they're doing
That's because most Americans lack style... they don't know what style is or what fashion is and the few who do are misunderstood and deemed metrosexual or worse...

You can buy any Nokia Now! Whi cares if it says ATT on it?

I prefer buying the unbranded unlocked phones and the best Nokia's were always available. As far as 3G goes, it will be awhile before that is uniformly built out and the extra drain on the battery is not worth it.

My N82 does just fine without it. Could have bought the N95 with 3G as well. The point is this is a non event for those who already know how to find and buy the best Nokia's available.

Not to mention

...their Sidekick Offering, with WiFi and GPS.
What do you mean "Sidekick"? Nokia doesn't make the Sidekick.

The handsets that Nokia offer with Wifi and GPS are N Series handsets, like the N95.

N Series handsets are the only phones that Nokia makes worth anything!!!
