T-Mobile has officially halted sales Sidekick Slide sales until Motorola can fix a defect with the device. A number of Slide users have reported problems with the Sidekick powering off when the screen was slid open or closed. Current Slide owners experiencing this problem should contact customer care or bring the Slide into a T-Mobile store. Other Sidekick models are unaffected by this problem.

happens when Moto is involved

This is what happens when Motorola gets involved with building a phone. They have not made a good reliable phone since the V60. There is a reason Samsung took over the #2 spot for Phone manufacturing.

if motorola made a car

i would NOT drive that car. wheels would probably fall off.
It's the same as if Harley made an airplane. Would you hop into a Harley small aircraft?

an easy fix

I don't really own Slide
I read it on hofo
the problem caused by looseness of battery
once you keep the battery in place, you'll be OK

do the right thing

imagine having this awesome product that you can use to suscribe thousands and thousands of customers.

then it doesnt work properly.

and christmas is around the corner.

do you let it "slide" until after the holidays? or do you do the right thing and save your customers from aggravation?

congratulations T-mobile
Er, they pretty much have. They've halted sales and are exchanging it for the Sidekick LX at the very least until the problem is fixed. How is that not "the right thing"?

It has been taken care of. Not really all that witty by the way. My friend was upgraded to the LX at ZERO cost because of this. His was not even affected. Congratulations to you!

leave it to motorola. i think tmo's response has been great. what is going on with moto and the quality control department. sounds like someone needs to have their house cleaned.

I told you it was going to suck terribly! 😉
