T-Mobile today announced it will begin to prorate early termination fees (ETFs) next year. Though exact details will not be announced and introduced until the first half of 2008, ETFs will decline over the course of a T-Mobile contract. T-Mobile joins Verizon and AT&T, both of which introduced pro-rated ETFs earlier this year.

Follow the Leader

I find it hilarious that other companies follow suit with Verizon. Perhaps people will just get smart and join the leader and always know they are getting the best wireless experience out there.

Sprint's the leader in...raising text rates.
Ahh good ole propaganda. To bad at&t is the leader in customer total, and T-Mobile is the leader is customer satisfaction. All Verizon leads is in cost of rate plans. And dont give me its the network bs, EVERYONE claims to have the best.

No, it is not a matter of follow the leader, but rather, because of the Cell Phone Users Bill of Rights.

T-Mobile has more than done their share of innovation anyways, with hotspot@home and myFaves, along with just plain lower rates in general.

Verizon knew that introducing a prorated ETF would force other carriers to follow suit, which in turn allows customers from other carriers to port-in sooner to VZW, rather than later.

All you darn fan boys get on my nerves! People pick carriers based on their wants and needs. I personally am not a fan of VZW. TMobile has better coverage in my area than VZW and their plans are fabulous. ๐Ÿ˜

Current Customers

do current customers qualify for a prorated ETF even though they signed up before this was offered?Or is it only for contracts signed after this policy was put in place?
it also applies to contract renewal upon expiration
It is for everyone once they are close to the end of there contract. So if you contract is over in 3 months then you qualify, but if you got your contract last month then no you dont qualify.

Someone correct me if Im wrong because i dont want to lo...
