Samsung Discontinues Galaxy Z TriFold

Samsung has announced the Galaxy Z TriFold, a foldable phone comprised of three ultra-thin (~4mm) panels and two sets of hinges, that unfolds into a 10-inch tablet. When closed, it resembles a standard smartphone with a 6.5-inch display that is 12.9mm thick.

Samsung's new top-end, double-hinged foldable phone will go on sale in the US this Friday for $2,899 from samsung.com. It comes in black, with 512 GB of storage.

Google has released the first official images of its new foldable phone and confirmed that it will be called the Pixel Fold. The company also promises to release more details about the device during the keynotes at its Google I/O event next week, starting May 10th.

After teasing that this year's foldable lineup would go more premium with a new "Ultra" model, Samsung has done the opposite and added a more-affordable Galaxy Z Flip7 FE. The lineup also includes the expected Galaxy Z Flip7 and Z Fold7.
