Sprint today showed off the Palm Centro at a preview event. The Centro has similar specs and features to the Treo 755p, but in a much smaller body - the smallest one Palm has created to date. It will be a 90 day Sprint exclusive, and is expected to launch for $99 with a contract. Sprint also showed off several new handsets that are coming including CDMA versions of the HTC Touch and Blackberry Pearl as well as a new messaging phone from LG and a candybar phone from Sanyo.

LG Phone

Why the heck cant Sprint get a phone like the VX9800?

Ever since the VX9800 came out I've wanted one. The idea of having a slim phone the opens up to a full sized screen, speakers, and keyboard is absolutely amazing!

The phone does not determine the time before a call goes to voicemail.

It's 23 seconds from channel seizure to voicemail answer. Regardless of phone.

the problem is that not everyone wants either of those three, people want something like the katana 2, choclate or sync but small and free. the price point is great for this palm os phone but i think sprint is going to still have to pull a hail mary to save them.
There isn't a problem for those that want these phones. The Katana 2, Sync, and Chocolate are phones that have been made. Who wants to pay for a phone. I'm pretty everyone would like a free phone and service. Hail Mary, I think not. It's marketing and...

I know the pics are low res, but the think looks cheap and ugly.
If you're talking about the Palm joint, I agree. That looks like a step backwards to me!

Nice for both...

LG will be an entry level slider, w/ full QWERTY aimed at younger crowd. Should have a nice price point.
we reviewed the touch here as well:
