AT&T customers can now make unlimited calls from their wireless phone to any domestic AT&T number, be it wireline or wireless. This change only applies to AT&T's Unity plan, which is a converged wireless and wireline service. Subscribers' Anytime minutes are not deducted when calls are placed to any AT&T line, and subscribers can keep their Rollover Minutes for 12 months. The plan also includes unlimited night and weekend minutes. AT&T estimates that it has more than 100 million phone numbers.

landlines still exist?

this is at&t's scheming way to get landline customers onto their most expensive All Distance home phone service, and guess what? lets say you can afford to make only one of your phone bills on time, well with this combined billing crap, if you late on one, you lose both. how profound. i definatly call bullshoot on this one!

Will it help.. or hurt???

As of now and last month and maybe longer At&t has lost 3 pennies for every one penny they earn. So are they doing this in an attempt to gain revenue? I don't think this will quite do it, and since most people use cell phones; will they actually sacrifice their discount to call a land-line? I doubt At&t will make a profit off this. I'm also wondering why people keep investing in their stock when MSNBC, and Forbes keep saying that the company is going downhill? I'm sure glad I don't have service with them... 👀
in our area Realtors and small business people sign up for it a lot... there is a benefit.

Great news!!!

This is great for customers, but what the official paperwork says is that if they have a corporate discount such as Military, Best Buy, Radio Shack, or McDonalds. they cannot combine the discount. Also when you have Combined billing on regular accounts the unity will not give you combined billing which is about 3 dollars.

"Eligible Customers
To qualify for an AT&T Unity plan, a customer must meet the following criteria:
Have land line service with AT&T.
Have an AT&T GSM-capable wireless handset or data device.
Agree to Combined Bill on both residential and wireless accounts.
Subscribe to a $59.99 or higher AT&T Unity Nation or FamilyTalk plan.

Once your customer meets the initial AT&T Unity plan requirements, you will need to p...

no FAN discounts kinda sucks (depending on what %discount you're eligible for), but at least you don't have to take "All Distance"(unl. local & unl. long distance, approx. $50/mo) and you can still have rollover. all you need is local wireline servic...
