Immersion today announced that Nokia is the latest licensee of its VibeTonz technology. VibeTonz provides variable vibration feedback for touchscreen interfaces, games, ringtones and other phone related uses. Nokia's CTO recently announced the company is looking into touchscreen interfaces and it is likely they licensed VibeTonz for use in such a case. Samsung and LG already have integrated VibeTonz into select handsets including touchscreen models, and Motorola uses a similar technology on the RAZR2.

Just what we need

More patents! 😛

I wonder how this is going to affect the RAZR2..
does this mean that other manufacturers have to pay nokia a royalty when they use this technology?
