Verizon Wireless revamped its calling and data plans today, and is now offering unlimited mobile Web access, messaging, VZ Navigator, and basic V CAST video clips with 450 minutes for $79.99. Plans range up to 6,000 minutes for $239.99. Included in the bundle is also Verizon's new mobile email service, which is available to Get It Now-enabled phones. This service lets users have email from up to 10 different inboxes sent to their phones from providers such as Yahoo, Hotmail and AOL. The email is formatted so that it appears similar to desktop email programs. The email can be added to a plan separately for $5 per month. This new set of plans is initially available on the LG Chocolate, enV, and VX8300, as well as the Motorola RAZR V3m and V3c. It will be available on additional phones in the coming months.

VZW Falls Short

You could get just about the exact same thing unlimited data, txt, internet for fifteen dollars less. Basically, the only difference compaired to Sprint plans is that customers are paying fifteen bucks for unlimited navigation. Which is pay as you go for 2.99 per day per use. I'd rather be charged for navigation as i use it.
Sprints plan does not include an actual built in e-mail client, just mobile web to allow you to access a web based email, right?

And unlike Sprint, VZW's messaging bundles include unlimited mms 😛

Does this plan include tethering?

Does the premium plan allow me to tether my phone to my computer as a modem? Or, is the "unlimited Internet" just on the phone itself?
The unlimited internet refers only to Mobile Web 2.0 and the new e-mail client.

I don't get it.

Is this really new? I thought like ATT that they had an unlimited internet feature for $20.00, and unlimited messaging for $20.00. So, how is this any different than just putting those two features together? 😕
The difference, from what I can gather, is that all of these items will be bundled together as a rate plan instead of a feature add-on. This means a great deal to the consumer, because to sign up for such a plan w/ Verizon it reqires a 2-year contract...

I would assume that the biggest benefit is going to be to indirect dealers where instead of getting paid on a $39.99 + data they will get paid for a $79.99 rate plan. Maybe Verizon is trying to make up for giving the shaft to dealers for the past 5+ ...

It's Verizon. What do you think?
Is the title of your post in English? 😕

Anyways, the 5 gig cap has NOTHING to do with this. N-O-T-H-I-N-G.

So yes, these premium plans are as advertised. UNLIMITED txt/pix/flix and IM messages to ANY carrier, UNLIMITED VZ Navigator, UNLIMITE...
