Oppo, Xiaomi Demo Selfie Cameras Hidden Under Display
Chinese phone makers Oppo and Xiaomi have both put out videos demonstrating a new technology that allows a selfie camera to be located completely under a phone display and capture a photo through the display layer. Oppo VP Brian Shen admitted that the technology isn't quite ready for production, saying "At this stage, it's difficult for under-display cameras to match the same results as normal cameras, there's bound to be some loss in optical quality. But, no new technology jumps to perfection right away."
