YouTube Drops Music and Video Streaming Costs for Students
YouTube today announced new, lower pricing tiers for full-time college students. The price drop applies to YouTube Music Premium and YouTube Premium, which carry monthly subscription costs of $10 and $12, respectively. The new cost to eligible students will be $5 per month for YouTube Music Premium and $7 per month for YouTube Premium. Students who sign up by Jan. 31, 2019, can lock in YouTube Premium at a special rate of just $6 per month. A subscription to YouTube Premium includes a subscription to YouTube Music Premium. Google today relaunched its premium video and music services, but says its existing Google Play Music service will remain unmolested. "If you use Google Play Music, nothing will change — you’ll still be able to access all of your purchased music, uploads and playlists in Google Play Music just like always," explained Google.
