Google today said people will have an easier time finding encouraging and heartwarming news stories via Assistant. People need only say "Hey Google, tell me something good" and the Google Assistant will provide a news summary about people and organizations that are solving problems and doing good. Google says these stories are pulled from a wide range of media outlets and are curated by the Solutions Journalism Network. This organization is nonpartisan and nonprofit, and is dedicated to highlighting how problems are solved that it is possible to do better. "Solutions journalism empowers and energizes audiences, helping to combat negative news fatigue," said Google. "It’s an important part of a balanced news diet." Google calls this idea an experiment. The good news is available via any Assistant-enabled device, such as phones and Google Home products.
