Trump Wants Supreme Court Net Neutrality Ruling Overturned

The Trump administration has asked the Supreme Court to vacate a 2016 ruling that verified the validity of the Obama-era net neutrality rules. The rules have already been scuttled by the Republican-led FCC and there's no real purpose to be gained in this action. In its filing, the Trump administration wants the court to determine "whether the now-superseded 2015 order was invalid because it exceeded the FCC's statutory authority, was arbitrary and capricious, was promulgated without adequate public notice, or violated the First Amendment." The rules were officially overturned in June in what's largely seen as a victory for companies that supply broadband and wireless services.
