President Trump is prepared to nominate Geoffrey Starks to fill the FCC seat vacated by Mignon Clyburn last month. Starks already works at the FCC in the Commission's enforcement bureau. "I congratulate Geoffrey Starks on his forthcoming nomination to serve as a Commissioner on the Federal Communications Commission," said FCC Chairman Ajit Pai. "He has a distinguished record of public service, including in the FCC’s Enforcement Bureau, and I wish him all the best during the confirmation process." Starks joins Commissioner Jessica Rosenworcel as the second Democrat on the FCC. Chairman Pai and Commissioners Brendan Carr and Michael O'Rielly serve as Republicans. The nomination isn't yet official, and it's unclear exactly when Starks will begin his new role.
