Google today improved its Google Assistant with the addition of new voices. The original Assistant was based on a single voice named Holly. Moving forward, Assistant will be available in a variety of male and female voices so people can choose one they prefer. Google says recent advancements in artificial intelligence have allowed it to crate new voices in just a few weeks that are able to capture subtleties like pith, pace, and natural pauses. The company also tapped musician John Legend to provide an additional voice. Legend's voice will arrive for certain interactions later this year. Google said the new voices will be available in Google Assistant soon.
