Samsung today announced the Galaxy A6 and A6+, mid-range phones that for the first time adopt its Infinity Display. The smaller A6 has a 5.6-inch screen with 1,480 by 720 pixels and the larger A6+ has a 6-inch screen with 2,220 by 1,080 pixels, giving them each an 18.5:9 aspect ratio. Shared features between the two phones include Dolby Atmos audio, face recognition and fingerprint scanning, Samsung Pay, Bixby, and Android 8 Oreo. The phones pack NFC, Cat 6 LTE, Bluetooth, WiFi, GPS, microUSB, and memory card support.
- Galaxy A6: The A6 has an octa-core processor clocked at 1.6 GHz and it comes with two cameras. The rear camera has a 16-megapixel sensor at f/1.7 and the front camera has a 16-megapixel sensor at f/1.9. The A6 has a 3,000mAh battery.
- Galaxy A6+: This phone steps up the octa-core processor clock speed to 1.8 GHz and it packs three cameras. The main rear camera has a 16-megapixel sensor at f/1.7 and it is joined by a 5-megapixel secondary sensor at f/1.9. Samsung says this allows the A6+ to take real-time bokeh shots with adjustable blur. The front camera jumps to a 24-megapixel sensor at f/1.9. The A6+ has a 3,500mAh battery.
