the release date?

when is the release date for the t519? i know the t629 is coming out on aug. 31 but i didn't hear anything about the t519... so if anybody knows can you please tell me the release date? looking for a new phone and i think i'm going to take either the 629 or 519... thank you!! but are they both 2.0 mega pixel?
T-mobile told me that the Samsung t519 is going to be released on Sept 15th and the samsung t629 is going to be released on Sept 18th. T-mobile also said the two phones have a 1.3 mega pixel, not a 2 mega pixel. -Rob

Now they say the 15th for the 519 and the 18th for the 629. Both have 1.3 MP cam. If you check there site it looks like the 519 be be $99 with 2year comittment. No price on the 629 yet. Rob

Once again a little too late...

A company COPIES Motorola's start point on thin phones?

Why don't they put i-tunes in them too.

Might as well do the exact copy...
The only similarity is the form factor and the thinness. Although, when compared to the SLVR, this phone is probably going to lack some features: Motorola's horrible UI... crappy camera... the illogical monstrosity that is iTunes...

Didn't samsung come out with media phones with expandable memory before motorola? ๐Ÿคจ

I didn't realize the L7 had a 6.9mm slim form factor, let alone a Fiberglass-infused plastic case.

Has Motorola ever even launched a slim slider? Last time I checked, Samsung came to market with that over a year ago. Motorola is now comming to mark...

I don't know what you have or why you are against Samsung making thin phones, but in reality, Motorola didn't put a patent on the thinness for cell phones, so its really not exclusive to them. Motorola is garbage, compared to Samsung. What are you go...

Looks like Motorola is copying Samsung on the slider form factor. You sound mad crazy, on saying Motorola has the thin form factor first. You sound like a little kid..."I had it first"
moto had ROKR models with itunes support, but the sales tells how is it
how about this: why doesn't Samsung take an existing phone, lets say, I don't know, the T809, and made slight improvements? Oh wait, that's exactly what happened. If you knew about phones at all you would know Samsung is notorious for the "add a featu...

Yes, Samsung kinda jumped on the thin-phone bandwagon. But I have an a900, Samsung's version of the Razr, and you can see soo many improvments. The screen is cleaer, camera is better, UI way better. Samsung just makes better phones, it's just that sim...

My opinions on Motorola

Motorola does have pretty sleek designs and stuff but their phone feature sucks and also its not really reliable... ever since startek... motorola has the worst software and LCD problems... they always go out in couple months and they break too easily... they have pretty decent looks but its not worth it... i rather get 1 samsung than 10 motorola phones... and samsung is not COPYING motorola... they are competiting with motorola.. that's all and they are making it better too lot better GO SAMSUNG!!! motorola is copying other companies' ideas too if you call competition copying....
what the hell does competiting mean? its pretty bad when you have a text stutter... hahaha just givin u **** ๐Ÿคฃ

Release date confirmed by T-Mobile.....(read all of it)

I sent an info request email to T-Mobile (lol too much time on my hands), heres a reply from T-Mobile.... (stars censor names)

Dear ****,

Thank you for taking the time to contact T-Mobile. My name is *****, and I would be happy to help you today with your request for information on the Samsung T629. I can understand wanting to know all about an upcoming handset launch, and I will do my best to assist you.

The tentative release date that I have available for the Samsung T629 is indeed for August 31st, ****. The T-Mobile website may have a different launch date, but that is the date currently marked as when the T629 will be available in most retail locations.

I do not have a price at the moment, for a new activation or an upgrade t...

Will the T519 be released at the same time as the T629?

August 31 is pushing how long I can wait. I wanted a new phone at the beginning of this month, not next month...

I leave T-Mobile and NOW they get the NICE phones...

I must say these are pretty nice phones and the cameras dont sound bad at all (2mp)...

Oh well, I'm happy I have EV-DO (Verizon)
Well if you're leaving T-Mobile and looking for 'NICE' phones why ever would you go to Verizon. At least with T-Mobile you have the OPTION of finding any GSM phone and using it on their network where as with Verizon you're stuck with their crappy CDM...

T629 ?

does anyone know how thin the T629 is? ๐Ÿ™‚
I think the T629 is the same phone as the Ultra Edition 12.9 (so 12.9mm). I think the T519 is the same thing as the Ultra Edition 6.9 (so 6.9mm).

Rumour has it (HoFo) that T629 is not a 2MP camera, but a copy of the T809's 1.3MP cam. Any knowledge of this folks?
