Qualcomm today announced the Snapdragon 821, an update to its flagship Snapdragon 820 processor. The new SoC primarily boosts the performance of the silicon with higher clock speed and other refinements. For example, the 821 carries over the 820's Kryo quad-core configuration, but boosts clock speeds from a maximum of 2.15 Ghz to 2.4 GHz. Qualcomm says the 821 also delivers increased power efficiency and smoother application performance. The Snapdragon 821 will not replace the 820; rather, it will be an alternate for phone makers seeking the highest level of output for processor-intensive applications, such as virtual reality. Qualcomm expects the Snapdragon 821 to ship during the second half the year.

Snapdragon 821

Is not this the same as the 823?
Just wait until the SD 830 comes along next year!!!
MediaTek has their Helio X30 in the wings at this time.
Really great specs.
