Sony Ericsson Announces Flood Of Phones

Sony Ericsson today announced four new phones, including 2 new Walkman phones. The Walkman models add a new feature called Track ID that allows a user to record a few seconds of a song from the microphone or the built in FM radio, and send it off to a server for identification.

Why not Verizon?

Is there a reasonable explination why Verizon never has Sony Ericsson phones?
I have wondered the same thing, anyone know who is gettin these? are they coming to the U.S.? if so prolly cingular 😁

Because SE makes mostly GSM phones...I dont recall any SE CDMA phones
Sony Ericsson does not have an American CDMA division. They tried back in the day but decided to stick to GSM. I doubt we will ever see any more CDMA sony ericsson phones

Well, to answer your question, Sony Ericsson has an exclusive contract with Cingular. They also have some smaller companies like Cincinatti bell, and other regional partners...but /cingular does they lions share of their business.

Why no A2DP on the Walkman W710?

So the main differences between the W710 and V710 are that the walkman does not have A2DP, and the non-walkman one does...

Way to go SE! You get an award for making absolutely no sense while at the same time deliberately stripping features from the user.

👿 i hope they make the W850 and z550 in an american version, SOON! if at all 🙄
really, im tired of seein cool phones and they are ALL over seas, but with the w600 here and the great sales they had with it i think they will HAVE to bring a newer version.

wow... really don't need to get jealous... just goto a sim free retailer online... and buy one... like i said earlier if u have t-mobile u wont have to worry... same with cingular... u will just be roamin off of tmobile 900... and if u get the new umt...

I think that slider is the perfect phone

Seriously that phone looks great and what more could you ask it to do, besides work with Sprint. I hope more manufacturers follow Sony's lead and make some next generation phones but bring them to the US. Phones here havent changed much in too long.
I wouldn't go that far, but it would be nice to see this come out in the US in the near future. It's stylish, has very nice walkman features, and I don't think any American providers have any phones with separate VGA video cameras yet.
