Motorola's Ed Zander today told analysts that he expects to launch the Q next week. The Q is Motorola's hotly awaited Microsoft Smartphone with a QWERTY keyboard, landscape QVGA screen and EV-DO high speed data. Although Zander did not name what day the Q will launch, he did say that Microsoft, Motorola's "carrier partner" (which is expected to be Verizon), and a number of enterprise solutions providers will be present.

i can finally get rid of my 700w!! :-p
...
I just talked to a Moto sales rep an found that some of the features are not available (ie. xcell, word and powerpoint) are view only. This is in the design and not a Verizon limitation. Is it possible to buy a full version from Moto or Microsoft?

Anyone know about the GSM version?

There is still a quad-band GSM version of the Moto Q advertised as "coming" on a few sites, including Cellular Concepts.

Anyone know anything?

Hmm. . .

Didn't Ed Zander also think the ROKR was a good idea? 🙄
The ROKR E2 is coming out this summer, not entirely sure if it'll be a U.S. release though!!!!!!!!!!!!! No song limit on the E2, it has a STANDARD headphone jack, and takes full SD.

No blackberry connect software?

In reading this article, I see it specifically said that the Q will not have blackberry software. I was told by the product manager at CES that it would definitely have it so I have been waiting all this time to get the Q instead of a new blackberry. Does anyone know what happened? The only way I can get my company email is through blackberry. My company still is using Exchange 2000 and won't be upgrading until next year.

This is very disappointing news.
