ok.. so what does this mean to VZW workers
Anyone have a comment?
Here we go again... (bid higher VZ!!!) my thoughts.
it looks like they might becuase they are in talks to sell some lines for $8B more so perhaps verizon wont be that cheap and actually offer a good deal for vodafone's stake in vzw.
i think after they successfully buy out vodafone's stake they should do what alltel and sprint are doing by spinning off its landline/local division and focus primarily on wireless, since that is the future.
whats 12 billion between friends
Voda doesn't seem to be in a hurry to sell, not sure they want to sell at all.

Maybe Voda takes VZW offer and gets paid 38bil, voda gets nailed paying 3bil in taxes making their total profit 35bil. But VZW might throw in the part of the Voda-Italia to make up the rest of the cost.
Voda Holds out for 50bil and gets it, but they get hammered with a larger tax bill and then voda would have to buy the rest of vzw's steak of it's Italian Company, which is estimated @ 10bil.
So who really knows what the math is, they have hands in each others pockets and this could make for some pretty creative foot-wor...
