Opera today released Opera Mini 2.0. Opera Mini is a Java-based HTML browser, allowing users to surf most websites from almost any Java-enabled phone. The browser translates the pages into something more appropriate for small phone screens by resizing them and presenting them in a single column. Version 2 improves on the browser by adding file downloads, keyboard shortcuts for bookmarks, searching from multiple search engines and skins that affect the browser's look.

Anybody use this yet?

Kinda interested - most browsers I have seen kinda suck.

Anybody have any positive/negative thoughts?
i have. last night i had to download it after receiving my replacement phone from lockline. its a tad faster, definatly an improvement in lag times atleast using edge with cingular.

the only negative i have is pages load from the side and the home...
It's a vast improvement over the other version. You can enter a url, do a google search and view most of your bookmarks on the front page. I also tried downloading a picture i was viewing and it worked with no problem.
Opera might be the most useful mobile software (that or Google Local) I've ever used. Try it out... its not like it costs anything 🙂

I was pleased to try Opera Mobile yesterday on an 8125.. wow tabbed browsing on a phone w00t!
It's nice but like sowhat said it does look a little less clear. I like it better than the first though. It just looks like the gamma settings are too high. I know you can't change that but that's the affect it has on my phone
