Silent Circle has begun accepting preorders for the Blackphone 2, its second-generation secure handset. The device has been upgraded with a larger 5.5-inch full HD screen, faster 1.7GHz octa-core processor, a more generous allotment of RAM at 3GB, and 32GB of internal storage. The phone has a 13-megapixel camera, QuickCharge battery, and supports microSD memory cards. The phone runs a forked version of Android called Silent OS and offers encrypted messaging and email services, as well as secure phone calls. Silent Circle did not list the sale price. The original Blackphone cost $629.
