Republicans to Battle FCC Broadband Plan

Republicans contend the FCC's proposed net neutrality rules are evidence that the White House has taken control of the agency and must be stopped. "The president gave a speech demanding that the FCC seize control of the Internet and treat it as a government-regulated utility," said Senator Ted Cruz, referring to President Barack Obama's November statement. "The FCC promptly turned around and behaved like an agency of the White House." Republicans believe the FCC's attempt to reclassify broadband under Title II of the Communications Act is overreaching and will negatively impact investment in broadband and those who rely on it. Republicans have drafted net neutrality rules of their own, but they would gut the FCC's ability to regulate anything other than discriminatory practices, say legal experts cited by the Wall Street Journal. Republicans warned last month that they'd use any legal means possible to fight the FCC's attempt to reclassify broadband as a utility. They have yet to take the first such step. The FCC will vote on Chairman Tom Wheeler's proposal at its open meeting on Feb 26.

Let's look at the FACTS

1. This is needless intervention by our SOCIALIST GOVERNMENT. NOBODY wanted this, except the people who petitioned the FCC asking for it.

2. This is an ATTEMPT BY THE FCC to TAX the internet, because Government = TAXES PEOPLE.

3. This will STOP ALL EXPANSION OF INTERNET in the US. Just look at how Verizon already stopped expanding FiOS preemptively (2 years ago) as a result.

4. This will only ensure there's a MONOPOLY and that AMERICANS are stuck with only ONE Internet provider (GovCast™), instead of the HEALTHY COMPETITION they have now.

5. The FCC will start determining WHICH SITES YOU CAN GO TO once they're able to squash the first amendment (don't be surprised, OBAMA and his libtard cronies have already planned to have it r...

No one wants to hear facts, man. People want to hear how much the government loves them and obeying blindly is best for society. Oh and be careful with that language. You could end up in a FEMA "re-education" center.
But here are some REAL facts to go along with your opinions.

>>This is needless intervention by our SOCIALIST GOVERNMENT.

Is our government socialist? Sure. Is this intervention needless, I don't know. But something needs to change. You certainl...

Notice how your biggest detractor admitted our government was Socialist and doesn't bat an eye. That is pretty funny considering he claims to be a "conservative". Lol

Something Else for Them to Tax

Just wait -- once our illustrious government manages to gain control over the Net, they'll eventually start taxing its use.
That is definitely part of the Endgame. Do you remember a few years ago when they were announcing "internet 2.0"? It included some sort of Digital ID that would be required to log in at all. Look at the language in Tom's statement. He talks about havi...

For it, then against it...

Then for it...now against it again.
I wish those publicans could figure out which donors side they were going to take and stick with it.
Perfectly put 👌
No Liberty-minded R was ever for it... nor should they be.
