Amp'd, MTV Partner

MTV is partnering with Amp'd Mobile in a content and financial deal. Amp'd will offer video clips, ringtones, and other content from MTV, VH1, Comedy Central and all of MTV's channels to its subscribers. In addition MTV will invest $50 million in the soon-to-launch MVNO and their Chief Digital Officer will join Amp'd's board of directors. Amp'd has recently suffered the loss of many of their key executives and early reviews from trial users have not been impressive. Because the investment also includes MTV joining Amp'd's board, it could be interpreted as a bailout from the cable giant or even an investment towards MTV taking over Amp'd as their own network. Amp'd yesterday announced standard content deals with UPN and CBS as well.

"Amp'd has recently suffered the loss of many of their key executives and early reviews from trial users have not been impressive". theyve got funding but no brains. ampd sucks butt.
Too bad. I was expecting Amp'd and Helio to bring something new/better to the table. Hopefully Helio will fair better.
...
Yeah, they keep pushing back their release date as well. I don't see much hope with MTV influencing the decisions.
