Chromecast Gains Material Design and Guest Mode

Google recently updated its Chromecast application for Android devices and refreshed it with Material Design. Beyond the new look Chromecast now supports guest mode, which Google says makes it easier for others to cast content from their Android device to Chromecast. Chromecast owners will need to active guest mode via the settings tools first. Once they do, any nearby Android device can cast directly to Chromecast without first joining the associated WiFi network. Chromecast is a thumb-sized media player that connects to HDTVs. The app is free, but the player itself costs $35.
