Convenience Stores Push Prepaid

Circle K today announced they have launched a prepaid phone, available at 2100 locations. The Talk and Go service uses a Nokia GSM phone on the Cingular network. Circle K is launching the service in conjunction with Ztar, which is also responsible for 7-Eleven's Speak Out prepaid service. The two convenience chains will both sell similar Nokia models with similar features using Cingular's network. Separately, 7-Eleven announced they would expand their agreement to resell Virgin Mobile phones and service to 5300 of their stores.

Intended demographic?

Going after the "my credit's so bad I can't afford to lease a gallon of milk" crowd?
Well considering you have to be 18 to get a cell phone, its targeted at the youth. Also a good target is tourists who only want a cell phone for maybe the 2 or so months they are going to be here. And also elderly people who don't use the phone often....

Another prepaid product

looks like a very hot market becuase we are seeing many prepaid products now come to the marketplace.

targeting the youth and the elderly.. not bad demographics to target..
