Apple today released iOS version 8.1. The system update, for iPhones and iPads, activates Apple Pay and fixes a number of bugs. Apply Pay is Apple's mobile payment system. It makes use of the NFC radio and Touch ID sensor on the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus to enable tap-and-go payments at participating retailers. iPads can use Apple Pay to make in-app purchases. iOS 8.1 also provides access to iCloud Photo Library beta, and adds support for SMS messaging on the iPad and Mac computers. iOS 8.1 is free to download over the air.

We can't even protect your iCloud pictures, now trust us your money!

Customer: My phone was stolen.

Card Company: This transaction was completed with fingerprint verification AND we took the liberty of capturing a front facing camera shot at the point of sale without your knowledge. Plus were showing via GPS triangulation where you are and you are calling us from that very same device sir.

Customer: WTF?

Card Company: You agreed to it in the terms of use when you downloaded iOS_8.1 it was right there between Mien Kampf and the Communist Manifesto right after the paragra...

You have to admit, that with those kinds of precautions, it does make the possibility of fraud much lower, frankly it does a lot to relieve some of my fears about mobile payments.

Hope they finally get it this time!

For the sake of all of us, I hope this time Apple fixes all the bugs on previous iOS 8 "updates". Most of our calls are related to iOS 8 issues.
Remember: it just works! If it doesn't work, it's user error.
