Dell, Panasonic Building Laptops for Cingular's Network

Dell today announced that in addition to the EV-DO laptops announced earlier this week, they will also move forward with plans to build laptops for Cingular's 3G network next year. Until the company can build HSDPA support into select laptops, they will offer an EDGE PC card for current buyers who wish to use Cingular's data network. Panasonic also announced they will begin selling an EDGE enabled laptop for Cingular's network. Additionally, Panasonic will offer a laptop with EV-DO for Sprint's new high speed network.

Planet Computers, known for its pocketable phones with "full" laptop-style keyboards, has revealed a new model — the Astro Slide — with a unique slide-and-tilt mechanism they call "RockUp". While the company's past models had a standard clamshell hinge that hid the main screen when closed, the main screen on the Astro Slide is always accessible, making it usable like a standard smartphone when closed.

This summer, Samsung will launch Samsung Money by SoFi, a new financial product integrated with Samsung Pay. Like Apple Card, Samsung Money can be used as a payment method with the wallet app (Samsung Pay), the account is managed within the wallet app, and the product also includes a physical payment card.

Boost Mobile has introduced the Celero5G, a white-label affordable 5G phone with a unique launch promotion attached. Like T-Mobile's REVVL V+ 5G, the Celero5G is manufactured by Wingtech and powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 700 chipset, (but the two phones differ in size and specs.) The Celero5G has a 6.5-inch display, 4,000 mAh battery, 4 GB RAM, and 64 GB storage, expandable by up to 2 TB.
