Nokia today announced a solution for sending and receiving corporate email from Nokia smartphones. The Mobile Business includes a server and two different clients for retrieving and responding to emails from a handset. One client is a simple Java application while the other is capable of more advanced work and offers a richer interface. At launch, the server works with Microsoft Exchange 2003, but will soon support Lotus Notes and Domino. The clients initially will work on Nokia 6300, 6680/1/2, 9300 and 9500 smartphones. Since the clients are Java-based Nokia will be certifying them for additional phones (including those from other manufacturers) that meet the appropriate Java and hardware requirements.
