Sprint Nextel today announced they negotiated deals to buy out two additional affiliates. The carrier will purchase IWO Holdings, which sells Sprint in the Northeast, and Gulf Coast Wireless, which is their affiliate for Louisiana and Mississippi. As part of the purchase agreement, Gulf Coast will drop their suit pending against Sprint in Louisiana district court. The company has now purchased three affiliates, and is in negotiations to settle suits with a number of others, who have agreed to suspend legal action until Jan 1 while settlement efforts are made.

QUICK! Buy them before they sue us!

Just kidding.

Let's just hope Sprint doesn't buy more than they can chew.....
I don't think it would be *that* bad. If I'm not mistaken, the affiliates "do business as" Sprint PCS. I don't know any technical details, but they could even share billing systems.

Anyone have any ideas?
