Facebook pushed out an update to its iOS application that enables auto-play for videos embedded in newsfeed posts. The videos will play silently until the user taps the screen to turn on sound. The update is free.

Next Update: Video Ads

Just my paranoid opinion. Looks like they're prepping users for video ads. I know a lot of people are annoyed by this feature already. But like anything Facebook, they'll soon forget, quit bitching, and get used to it. It won't be a big deal once they roll out the video ads, especially if they don't have sound either. Very sneaky. It seems the rumors are about to become true. Get adblockers now if you already don't.
Everybody should stop using these stupid sites like facebook, twitter, google, anything that has started revving up the marketing machine too hard.

They would be replaced by more socially responsible companies (practically) tomorrow. It's not hard...

was this an Android update too

or did they recently enable it? I have noticed this lately.
Is there a way to turn this off on Android?
