At MOTONOW in Chicago, Motorola has previewed the long-awaited ROKR. Like the RAZR or SLVR, the ROKR will be a family of music oriented phones. The first and flagship ROKR (pictured here) appears to be a 3G phone running Motorola's new next-generation OS.

Although little else was said about the ROKR, Ron Garriques did reveal some more information about other four letr models we've seen before. The current GSM RAZR will soon be available in additional colors such as Maria Sharapova's pink edition. It will be followed up by an updated model in Q4 with a 1.3 MP camera, memory card slot and music player. The CDMA RAZR has just hit carrier labs for testing and should be available in time for the holidays. The 3 SLVR models that have been announced should also be available in Q4. Surprisingly, Garriques also said the PEBL would be out in Q3 and the chrome pewter color will be joined by a rubberised matte black and red colors. Several other potential colors were previewed as well.

ITS A MUST HAVE!

Ok...so I know the chances of Verizon getting thier hands on this phone first is slim to none...because we all know that Moto LOVES Cingular and any new technology/features/styling is made in GSM first and foremost. But I HOPE/WISH/PRAY Verizon gets it first.
I am a HUGE Apple fan, Ive got the iPod, Powerbook G4 and an iMac G4. Im also working on a way to fit a Mac Mini into my car as well as my budget. So I can confidently say...that WHOEVER gets this phone...gets my business. [Unless its T-Mobile, theres not a phone in the world that could get me to switch to them.] Yeah, iTunes takes the music profit from the carrier, but the carrier gets the profit from the phone itself and the potentially millions of 'youth' consumers [such as mys...
