T-Mobile to Purchase AWS Spectrum from U.S. Cellular

T-Mobile today announced that it has agreed to buy a 10MHz block of AWS spectrum from U.S. Cellular for $308 million in cash. The spectrum blankets about 32 million POPs across 29 markets. The major areas covered include cities in the Mississippi Valley region, such as Birmingham, Kansas City, Lexington, Little Rock, Louisville, Memphis, Nashville, New Orleans, and St. Louis. T-Mobile says it will use the spectrum to in order to provide LTE 4G coverage in those markets. The transaction is subject to regulatory approval.

Yay for Birmingham

We already have lte in some parts of Birmingham, good to see it will improve and get better signal. As long as they approve it.
