Google today provided an update for the Android version of Google Earth. Google Earth 7.1 adds several new features, chief among them the ability to view locations at ground level through Street View. Other new features include improved search capabilities and directions that let users see 3D views of transit, walking, biking, and driving directions. It also has an improved interface and left-hand panel to make browsing through various layers easier. Google Earth 7.1 for Android is free to download from the Google Play Store.

Battery Killer

Google earth seems to murder the battery on any device I use it on, Android or iOS. When I launch it on my laptop, the voltage use increases drastically. I don't know what it is about this app, sometimes just thinking about launching it seems to lower my battery as well.
It is graphically intense.....it takes a lot of juice to display those graphics
