FCC Approves LG EV-DO Phone for Sprint

The FCC today approved the unannounced LG LX-545, a new slide-style CDMA phone from LG with a chipset supporting CDMA EV-DO high-speed data. The phone appears to be the successor to the announced (but not-yet-released) MM-535 for Sprint. Documents and photos on the FCC web site confirm an EV-DO chipset, a 1.3 megapixel CCD camera, and a TransFlash memory card slot. (Compared to the 1xRTT chipset, CMOS camera, and miniSD card slot of the 535.) The documents also mention Sprint multiple times, and photos show the device with a Sprint logo. Less-reliable draft documents indicate the phone may also sport a QVGA display and up to 64 MB of built-in flash memory. The phone appears to be otherwise similar to the 535 in both design and features.

Any news if the 545 will have bluetooth? Does the phone have capability to sync with contact / calendar lists from outlook? Finally, any idea when this might show up from Sprint?

Sprint phones kicking butt

In the last 2 month sprint has come out with 5 new phones and T-Mobile has not come out with any. It must be easier to sell phones when you don't have to wipe dust off the boxes. 😕

Better Service on Ev-Do device?

So i went through the FCC report on this handset and really do hope they release a 2nd hardware version. If all is correct on the report, it has the CDMA PCS Rf output to be WEAKER than the Audiovox a600!!! 😲 If so, this is definitely going to be one chillin on the shelf despite the upgraded camera and faster network connectivity.
Sorry I don't have specific numbers to back this up, but I DO know phones RF Ouyput can vary greatly between devices and still have excellent reception... I currently have the LG 325 and it's reception easily rivals Sanyo!
