In conjunction with this announcement, Chi Mei announced it is building a GSM/GPRS EDGE Smartphone with Wi-Fi that will include Kineto's UMA client. Kineto also announced it has joined the Symbian Platinum program and intends to port to Symbian-based Operating Systems as well. The technology is in trials with both European and US carriers.
