Facebook today offered a significant update to its software developers kit for Apple's iOS platform. The update to the SDK provides developers with an expanded set of tools to use with respect to Facebook and iOS, and integrating the two. Some of the new tools include improved session management, which will allow developers to better handle authentication between their apps and Facebook. The new SDK also includes pre-built interface tools for displaying user photos. Other adjustments to the SDK include improved feature support for Objective-C and better support for Facebook's APIs out of the box. Facebook believes the updated SDK will make it easier and faster for developers to integrate their iOS app with Facebook. The SDK is free to download. It is compatible with iOS 4 and up.
