Amazon is bringing its test-drive feature to handsets with the latest update to its Amazon Appstore for Android. Version 2.6.53, which is officially still in beta mode, lets app shoppers test and use applications directly on their handset before they purchase/download the apps. This feature has been available via the web version of the Appstore for Android, but this marks the first time it is available on smartphones. According to the changelog, the feature is available to only a few Android handsets and for a few individual apps. Amazon didn't say when or if the feature will become more widely available.
