T-Mobile today launched Caller Tunes, the first ringback tone service in the U.S. to be available nationwide. Ringback tones replace the typical ring that callers hear as they are waiting for someone to answer the phone. T-Mobile subscribers will be able to buy new songs for their callers to hear for $1.99 each from artists on Universal, Warner Music and Sony-BMG. They can assign a unique tune for every individual caller, groups, or all callers. Verizon launched ringback tones in select California markets three weeks ago.

Question for everyone?

This really blows my mind. A couple weeks ago when Verizon Wireless announced the trial of Ringback tones in Cali., it was received by everyone on this board as stupid, or just another way to steal money from there customers. Why is it that when T-mobile announces it, at the exact same price I might add, no one says anything negative about it?

I am not trying to rip anyone, I think this is a real cool idea. And I am sure all carriers will launch it eventually, because it is a money making opportunity, and it is really cool!
This is cool, but can you also you the caller tunes for your ringtones so when someone calls you it plays the song so you can hear it and also so theu hear it on there end.
can someone let me know
thanks

this is a bit different...this is what OTHER people hear when they call you ... i.e. they dial your # instead of regular ring ring ring they hear something like green day playing in background like elevator music before you answer....it lasts up to 30...

I work for T-Mobile Customer Care in the Training Department. The ring back tone is simply when you call the person it will ring whatever song you choose. It is much better for company’s who use their cell phones as their business phones. For indivi...
