Verizon Finalizes Purchase of Cellular One in Pennsylvania

Verizon Wireless today announced that it has completed its acquisition of certain assets from Cellular One in northeastern Pennsylvania, covering 114,000 POPs. Verizon said that it will continue to operate Cellular One under its original brand name for several months, and there are no immediate changes to customers' calling plans, devices, or service. Verizon bought Cellular One's operating license from United States Cellular Corporation. Terms were not disclosed.

Does Verizon have designs on the whold company eventually?

I thought that at&t had already bought Cellular One actually....or at least when I was an at&t employee there was a whole section of company policy telling us what to do with a 'former Dobson Communications or Cellular One customer'.

Anyone traveling on I-84 will no longer have a roaming icon flashing on their phone anymore.
