Samsung Joins Symbian

Samsung today said it will add Symbian to its software partners. Samsung is the last of the world's top five handset makers to adopt the software of Symbian, a British company financially supported by three of the top five phone producers. Symbian produces operating system software that powers handhelds and smartphones. Today's annoncement is expected to result in Symbian-based smartphones from Samsung, although Samsung said it also plans to continue working with Microsoft and Palm on creating smartphones based on their respective platforms.
