Toshiba, Mitsubishi Team Up For 3G

Toshiba and Mitsubishi Electric will work together on third-generation cell phone technology to speed up product development and cut costs, the companies said Wednesday. The alliance will compete with another Japan-based 3G alliance announced last year between Matsushita and NEC. NEC and Matsushita, which makes the Panasonic brand, are the top players in the Japanese cell phone market.
